About Us

The Irish Dance Teachers Association of Canada – Eastern Region is a not-for-profit group of Irish dance teachers in the provinces of Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.  Membership also extends to Prince Edward Island & Newfoundland and Labrador, although no one is currently registered from those areas.

The Association supports members and aims to encourage and promote Irish dancing throughout the region.  Get in touch with the Regional Director (info below) about starting dance lessons or supporting our endeavors through sponsorship.

Once a year the IDTAC-ER runs a regional championship which also serves as a qualifying event for the North American and World Irish Dance Championships.  This event is held each November and is called the Oireachtas (a gaelic word pronounced Oh-rock-tis).  Visit the dedicated page for important information relating to this event.

The IDTAC-ER is associated with the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America, the North American Feis Commission and An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha.
