About Us

The Irish Dance Teachers Association of Canada – Eastern Region is a not-for-profit group of certified Irish dance teachers from the provinces of Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island & Newfoundland and Labrador.

Its aim is to support members and local Irish dance competitions in an effort to encourage and promote Irish dancing throughout the region.

Each November, the Association runs a regional championship called The Oireachtas (a Gaelic word pronounced Oh-rock-tiss) where the best dancers from across the region compete for titles and qualifying places to attend both the North American and World Irish Dance Championships the following year.

Please reach out to the Regional Director to inquire about dance lessons in your area and/or to support our endeavors (such as The Oireachtas) through sponsorship.

The IDTAC-ER is associated with the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America, the North American Feis Commission and An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha.

  1. Hi,
We are planning a vacation to Nova Scotia this summer. My daughter would love to compete in the Fundy Feis, if possible. Any chance the date has been posted? Thanks so much, Margery Vagt
